Michelle Moran, new European member in ICCRS-council
The ICCRS-council elected Michelle Moran to be the new representative for Northern Europe. She will enter the council-meeting in February 2003.
Who is she?
In the Europe Arise invitation you could read: "Michelle Moran, born and educated in England was a full-time youth worker. She worked at the international chaplaincy for overseas students in London. She obtained a degree in religious studies and Sociology. Joined the Sion Community as a founder member in 1985 and initially worked on and led the Parish Mission teams. After three years of working nationally in Parishes, Michelle moved within the community pioneering into evangelisation, teaching and training. She is a ‘communicator’ and has a recognised international ministry in the areas of preaching, teaching, evangelisation and has published various books on these subjects. Michelle has completed a Masters Degree in Pastoral Theology in 1997. Her thesis was about leadership and ministry in Catholic Parishes."
We asked Michelle to tell someting more on herself.
She answered: "Other things of interest are: I was born in the city of Leeds in the North of England.I have been married to Peter for 21 years.
I can be contacted at Sion Community, SENT, Sawyers Hall Lane, Brentwood, Essex Cm15 9Bx, England. E Mail: training@sioncommunity.org.uk
What do I think I will bring to my new role? I am someone who is enthusiastic about my faith and deeply committed to the Church. As a lay person I have been involved in full time ministry for 17years, however i still regard myself as fairly ordinary and down to earth. I hope to be a source of inspiration and encouragement to others. The ministry I am involved in is essentially one of teaching and proclamation and I would want to continue to serve the renewal as a teacher, speaker, facilitator etc. I place a great emphasis upon equipping the saints for ministry. Perhaps however an important aspect of my work will also be listening to people and networking. Europe is not an easy place to hold together because of our different languages and cultures but building relationships, sharing together in a spirit of mutual co-operation are vital. I hope in some way to contribute to this."
Probably you can meet her in Czestochowa, next September. Lets pray that she will be a good representative for Europe in the ICCRS-council. She will also join the European subcommittee of ICCRS. Michelle, welcome in Europe!
