THE EUROPEAN CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL INFO-LETTER (Euccril)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The European meeting in Czestochowa has touched the hearts of many participants, specially in the
Eucharist on Saturday-evening; one day after visiting Auschwitz. The Lord did touch some of the
most deep and painful feelings in our European history. I cannot keep my eyes dry when I think of
it again. In the German CCR -CE-Infodienst, Dezember 2002, was a testimony of Regina Meyn. We
received permission to publish it in Euccril. The short English translation is below the original
German text. Kees Slijkerman ------------------------------------ GERMAN TESTIMONY ON THE EUROPEAN MEETING IN CZESTOCHOWA, September 2002. "Europa, fahr hinaus aufs tiefe Wasser!"Zeugnis von Regina Meyn, Mitglied der Koordinierungsgruppe der CE Auch ich hatte meine Erwartungen sehr hoch gesteckt. Zu hoch? Was hatte ich eigentlich erwartet?
Ich denke mit großer Dankbarkeit an den Samstag, den letzten Tag der Konferenz, der unter dem Thema
"Versöhnung" stand und der mir Heilung und Frieden schenkte. --------------------------- "Europe, put out into the deep!"Testimony by Regina Meyn, a member of the National Service Committee of the CCR Inspired by the words "Put out into the deep", out of the popes recent letter "Novo millennio ineunte", ICCRS had organised 5 days of prayer for our continent, listening to God and sharing with Leaders and Intercessors from all of Europe. My expectations were high as I prepared for this gathering in Czestochowa, Poland. Were they too high? What did I expect? The last day of the meeting is still most impressive in my mind: Saturday's topic was about reconciliation, and it was a day of healing and peace for me. Friday's journey to Auschwitz wasn't quite easy for us Germans. We were glad to be able to run I on myself was born in former Slesia (today Poland) and few days before had been able to visit I thank God for every single brother and sister from whole of Europe participating in Czestochowa. They helped me to make my focus and heart wider. It was not a conference about professional leadership skills or retread-like theological teachings, it was rather "solid bread". But as many others I returned home with new joy and fire for the work in the prayergroups and the CCR. CE-Infodienst, Dezember 2002 (translation: Johannes Hartl) |
