THE EUROPEAN CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL INFO-LETTER (Euccril)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OVERVIEW CCR FRANCE There are more than 1500 prayer groups, out of which about 10% are runned by catholic charismatic communities. A few percent have members of various Christian denominations. Most of the dioceses have a co-ordination team and a priest delegated by the bishop for these groups. There is a handful of large residential or non-residential charismatic communities which have spread through the country and through the world, and have official statutes approved by the church. These communities have permanent members of various life statutes (laymen married or not, consecrated men or women, ordained ministers and priests). There is also more than a dozen of smaller local communities gathered around a few dedicated people. CCR France started in 1971-72 To get more information you can mail to the co-ordinator of the national service committee (instance de communion) Pierre and Marie-Paule Chieux E-mail: pierre.chieux@wanadoo.fr Our national service has been extended by one more year, until November 2004, date at which we are preparing a national meeting of all communities and prayer groups, in Lourdes. This will be the first meeting of this type since 1988. Pierre Chieux, December 2002 |
